Who you are:

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking an Software Development Intern who is capable of delivering great full stack code in C# and TypeScript for our fleet management software, MyGeotab. What you'll do:

As a Software Development Intern,your key areas of responsibility will be improving our SDK and other C#-based components, developing UI components using TypeScript, and writing automated tests to ensure our source code remains highly stable and reliable.  You will need to provide regular status reports to key partners to ensure the assignments are completed on time and meet expectations.  You will need to work closely with Geotab’s software development and product design teams, as well as communicate with external vendors.

To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and time management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through completion. The successful candidate will also be able to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities to ensure timely results.

The opportunity:

    • 12 month work-term length beginning September 2024
    • Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week

How you'll make an impact:

    • Participate in team meetings and discussions
    • Use GIT for source control
    • Develop UI components using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
    • Develop automated unit tests using XUnit in C#
    • Develop software using C# on .NET Core / .NET 7+
    • Create database access code using SQL queries and Postgres databases
    • Participate in peer reviews
    • Debugging and testing software
    • Write technical documentation

What you'll bring to this role:

    • Completing a University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field preferred
    • Great communication, organization, and time management skills, as well as a willingness to learn and strong work ethic
    • Experience with Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, C# .NET Core / .NET 7+ is an asset
