Currently, more than 1800 students are learning at GESS supported by more than 400 full time and part time academic and administrative staff members. In August 2018 GESS moved to Dairy Farm Road to a modern new school campus located at the edge of Singapore’s largest nature reserve.

Cleaning Supervisor
Coordinate closely with Facility Administrator on daily operations, includes but not limited to:
·       School support requirements
·       Team roster and work schedule in line with school requirements
·       Cleaning schedule and implementation
·       Operational requirements such as supplies and equipment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Duties
·       Supervise cleaning team leaders and team members and ensure they are equipped with the knowledge of the campus                     
·       Leads the cleaning team and involves in the implementation of the processes and procedures
·       Coordinate the cleaning team shift plan. Give appropriate instructions. Delegate tasks according to capability of staff and monitor results/outcome and give feedback.
·       Escalate issues concerning changes in the cleaning team’s operations, procedures, or actions that may cause business interruption.
·       Able to use communication skills to avoid/resolve conflicts, shows empathy and   diplomacy, communicates proactively. Monitor and review the morale level of the cleaning team.
·       Develop SOPs for Cleaning Operations and coordinate the implementation.
·       Assess and monitor the performance of the cleaning team.
·       Report and investigate any cleaning related or unusual incidents promptly and seek advice from the Facility Manager.
·       Assist in the evaluation and assessment of the performance of service providers
·       Check and ensure all cleaning equipment are always in functional and good condition. Report to the Facilities Administrator if any equipment needs to be serviced or repaired.
 
Leadership
·       Recommend courses/trainings which are applicable to the cleaning team to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the operations
·       Addresses issues in constructive way, leading through information and objectives
·       Motivates and recognize subordinates, drives and communicates department strategy
·       Foster innovation for overall improvement
 
Health and Safety
·       Maintain safe and clean working environment
·       Conduct routine safety inspections
·       Perform daily checks and inspections on campus ensuring all cleaning expectations are met
·       Ensure service providers engaged comply with the safety regulations, e.g. landscaping and pest control
·       Arrange and give sufficient health and safety related trainings and guidance to the cleaning team
·       Liaise with authorities as and when necessary, e.g. NEA
 
Administrative Duties
·       Stock-take and inventory management of supplies and equipment, wirings, accessories, supplies to avoid any shortages
·       Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained including but not limited to service/breakdown log, occurrence and incident reports and staff training records and instruction logs.
 
Others
·       Perform other tasks and projects assigned by the Facility Manager

Our School
The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, German international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates.
 
Our European Section offers tuition in English for students from grade 1 - 12 across all three IB programmes (the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma Programme) as an authorised IB World School.
 
Children aged 2 years onwards can enroll in our Preschool where children are following the PYP programme in German-speaking, English-speaking or bilingual groups.
