Currently, more than 1800 students are learning at GESS supported by more than 400 full time and part time academic and administrative staff members. In August 2018 GESS moved to Dairy Farm Road to a modern new school campus located at the edge of Singapore’s largest nature reserve.

Ab 1. August 2024 suchen wir eine Grundschullehrkraft, die gemäß deutschem Grundschulcurriculum an der Deutsch Europäischen Schule in Singapur als Klassenleitung unterrichtet.

We are looking for a Primary School Teacher to deliver the German primary school curriculum from 1st August 2024.


Aufgaben

    • Klassenleitung & Fachunterricht in der Grundschule
    • Mitarbeit im Jahrgangsstufenteam
    • Proaktives Engagement in der Schulentwicklung
    • Teilnahme an Meetings und Personalentwicklungsmaßnahmen sowie Ausführung von Aufsichten
    • Proaktive Elternkommunikation und Mitarbeit in der Außendarstellung der Schule
    • Aktive Teilnahme am Schulleben

Anforderungen

    • Abgeschlossene Lehramtsausbildung für das Grundschullehramt (2. Staatsexamen oder gleichwertig)
    • Kenntnisse über und Erfahrung mit dem deutschen Grundschullehrplan
    • Fließende Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse, da die Unterrichtssprache Deutsch ist
    • Fähigkeit zum eigenständigen Arbeiten sowie für die Arbeit im Team
    • Arbeitserfahrung an internationalen Schulen wünschenswert
    • Humorvolle und belastbare Persönlichkeit mit Freude am Unterrichten und Erziehen junger Menschen
    • Erfahrung mit Unterrichtsmethoden, die zum individualisierten Lernen führen
    • Sichere Computerkenntnisse und Erfahrung in der Einbindung der neuen Medien in den Fachunterricht
    • Aufgeschlossenheit zur Mitarbeit in einem internationalen Team

Responsibilities

    • Teaching a primary school homeroom class
    • Plan collaboratively with grade level team
    • Proactive participation in school development
    • Attend meetings, complete supervision duties, participate in professional development
    • Proactive communication with parents and contribution to the representation of the school
    • Be an active member of the school community

Requirements

    • Recognised teaching qualification (2. Staatsexamen or equivalent recognized teaching qualification)
    • Knowledge, understanding or teaching experience of the German primary school curriculum
    • Articulate and effective written and oral communication in German and English, as the medium of instruction is German
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Experience of working in an international school setting advantageous
    • Humorous and resilient personality with passion for teaching and educating of primary students
    • Experience with teaching methods that empower individualistic learning
    • Good computer skills and experience integrating new media into the class
    • Openness to work in an international team

Our School
The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, German international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates.
 
Our European Section offers tuition in English for students from grade 1 - 12 across all three IB programmes (the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma Programme) as an authorised IB World School.
 
Children aged 2 years onwards can enroll in our Preschool where children are following the PYP programme in German-speaking, English-speaking or bilingual groups.
