Currently, more than 1800 students are learning at GESS supported by more than 400 full time and part time academic and administrative staff members. In August 2018 GESS moved to Dairy Farm Road to a modern new school campus located at the edge of Singapore’s largest nature reserve.

Job Purpose
- Support to ensure a smooth operation of school shop on campus and online shop.
- Support in further development and maintenance of the shop.
- Provide high quality and dedicated services to parents, students, visitors and GESS staff.
- Possess good team spirit and excellent communication skills.
- Conduct and ensure inventory control and stock take;receive, RCP all items delivered to school.
- To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner.

Key Accountabilities:
Inventory and Sales:
- Open and close school shop account 
- Order and replenish items according to predicted quantity.
- Good communication with teachers, students, and parents, and answer all the queries, including replying all School Shop emails.
- Support inventory control, carry out daily reconciliation of sales reports vs actual receipts.  
- Conduct stock take in the Storeroom and school shop.
- Assist Admin Officer and comply all school shop operation SOP, sales of 

Receiving and SOPs:
- Stock in School Shop items in a timely manner and deliver to the shop as and when required.
- Co-ordinate the sale/payment arrangements with the Requestors for the ad hoc pre-orders and/or items which has been approved by procurement manager. 

General Administration:
- General operation of campus school shop and online school shop.
- Cover and support colleagues during busy and leave periods.
- Perform ad hoc projects or tasks allocated by Procurement Manager.

Pipeline Projects:
- Assist in procurement/school shop related pipeline projects, SOPs, and policies, such as Procurement Policy, E procurement, tender process and change of system, software, and hardware, etc. 

Others:
- Other tasks, duties or projects as assigned by Procurement Manager, or Head of Finance.

Knowledge and Experience
- Strong knowledge in various areas of shool shop items but not limited to stationery, school supplies and teaching material
- High level of communication skill, problem solving which can be used to take initiative and meet objectives
- Effective written and verbal English and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and open-minded personality with ample cultural awareness and eager to work in a multi-cultural team
- A good bachelor’s degree is desired.

Technical and Soft Skills
- Customer service experience with excellent communication skills in liaising with various internal and external stakeholders is a must.
- A stress-taker with high level of tolerance, patience, and proactive mindset in resolving issues.     
- Proven record of effective communication skills in coordinating with debt collections and slow paying customers.
- Proficient in using systems
- Medium level proficiency in using Microsoft Office Excel and Word

Our School
The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, German international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates.
 
Our European Section offers tuition in English for students from grade 1 - 12 across all three IB programmes (the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma Programme) as an authorised IB World School.
