We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our Finance team in St. John’s, NL. The Financial Controller will support the VP of Finance in the management and execution of financial processes and implementation of policies and controls within the Company. The ideal candidate should thrive in a dynamic environment and add value to the Company with their superior analytical skills and passion for continuous improvement.  

What You Will Do:

    • Supervise a team in the completion of their assigned tasks
    • Ensure all monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounting transactions are reviewed and recorded in a timely and accurate manner
    • Oversee activities related to monthly payroll, including reporting and remittances
    • Lead the annual audit process, ensuring timely and accurate working papers and supporting documentation are shared with the Company’s auditors
    • Act in an Administrator capacity to ensure the Company’s ERP system is well maintained and continues to support its operations
    • Take a leading role in the planning and execution of the annual budget process
    • Assist in the identification of grant and funding programs, including the submission of proposals and management of claims
    • Provide support and financial expertise to the VP of Finance to help make timely and informed financial decisions

Who You Are:

    • You have a professional designation such as CPA or MBA
    • 8+ years of experience in progressive Accounting roles, including supervisory experience
    • Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
    • Proven ability to thrive as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong knowledge of ERP functionality and related processes
    • Exceptional organization skills and proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines
