Human Resources Manager (Maternity Cover - 12 months) – Germany (13412)
Location: Munich, Germany
Start Date: ASAP

The Human Resources Manager role will be responsible for 50 employees in our German speaking region and will initially be working from home but ultimately be based in our offices in Munich. You are considered by your peers to be an enthusiastic, passionate, highly driven, commercially minded experienced and progressive HR professional, and a credible, empathetic and sound business partner. You are pragmatic and innovative in your approach and not afraid to challenge the status quo, working closely with our MD based in Munich and remote managers based in London in an evolving, fast moving business.

You have substantial generalist HR experience with a comprehensive grasp of German employment law, statutory HR processes, employee and Works Council relations, coupled with an interest in being part of a supportive EMEA HR team and working in partnership with our global Centres of Excellence on the TLD and Rewards side.

Success to you is when you can see that your partnership with the business helps them make better decisions for themselves vs. solving all their problems. You are well versed and excel in managing change, are relationship driven and a strong communicator.

You will be reporting to the Vice President HR, EMEA (also a German speaker) based in London.

Your Next Challenge:

    • Partnering with our teams, leaders and Works Council ensuring that HR strategies and programs are aligned with business goals and global objectives.
    • Focus on areas such as employee engagement, retention, performance and talent pipelining and talent management whilst partnering with our in-house Talent Acquisition, Training and Leadership and Rewards teams to effectively support the business.
    • Act as a change agent and proactively recommend practice changes and innovative approaches to address management and business objectives.
    • Collaborate with the Global HR team in rolling out projects and initiatives, ensuring that they are locally relevant (i.e. Annual Reward Cycle; Engagement Survey; Inclusion and Diversity, Leadership Development; Mentoring; Onboarding initiatives, etc.).
    • Foster and promote Getty Images culture and values (our ‘Leadership Principles’).

What You’ll Need:

    • Proven HR business experience gained in a fast paced, commercial environment), ideally with some exposure to wider Europe.
    • Experience of working as part of a matrix organisation within a US company, ideally within the sales, technology and/or media industries, would be an asset.
    • Commercial business acumen – a genuine interest in how the business operates, the needs of the business and HR solutions that add value.
    • You should be self-motivated and must be able to demonstrate initiative and be proactive with a ‘can do’ attitude.
    • Energy, enthusiasm and eagerness to contribute and influence at all levels.
    • Excellent communication skills in German and English and the ability to remain objective and diplomatic is essential. There is an opportunity to support global and EMEA wide HR projects, hence additional language skills (in particular French or Italian) would be a bonus.
    • Good level of numeracy and literacy essential. Must be accurate with excellent attention to detail. 
    • Advanced MS Office skills together with sound knowledge of Workday (HRIS system) would be advantageous.
    • Flexibility and willingness to be hands-on, take on additional tasks, with the ability to plan, prioritize and multi-task.
