Who You Are:
As senior commercial editor, you will lead the Commercial Sport editing team to deliver exceptional results across client projects, with a focus on managing and processing commercial portrait projects. Your role combines remote, in-office, and onsite work, including event support and project management, group edit leadership, and ensuring the timely distribution of content globally. You will work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, balancing editorial quality with client satisfaction.

You’ll be integral to our global editing strategy, guiding and organising editing teams supporting international events and key stakeholders. You should have a solid understanding of both domestic and international sports, combined with experience managing large volumes of content while meeting client expectations and relationships. A strong background in digital photography, commercial portraiture, photo editing, metadata management, and technical troubleshooting across both PC and MAC platforms is essential to success in this role.

Your Next Challenge:

    • Content Editing and Distribution:
    • Edit commercial content remotely, in-office, and onsite at sporting events.
    • Deliver content for global distribution, using advanced skills in JPEG and RAW workflows, photo editing software, metadata application, and FTP management.
    • Ensure timely uploads of images to multiple platforms, including websites and client destinations.
    • Create and manage briefs for commercial portraiture and client-specific tasks.
    • Commercial Projects:
    • Manage the editing requirements for commercial projects.
    • Assist in the organisation and planning of commercial portrait projects, including logistics and equipment coordination.
    • Participate in client briefing calls to establish delivery schedules and workflows.
    • Create and implement detailed photography/editing briefs and testing processes for each project.
    • Act as the main point of contact for clients, answering editing queries, providing updates, and managing timelines for uploads.
    • Lead and mentor a team of editors on headshot projects, ensuring workflow consistency and high-quality results.
    • Drive training initiatives to upskill editors in headshot workflows, expanding team expertise.
    • Lead client discussions and manage relationships with key internal and external partners.
    • Key Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with the technology team to maintain server functionality, addressing technical needs such as hardware updates and efficiency improvements.
    • Actively research and integrate new technologies to improve workflow efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Train and mentor freelance editors, ensuring adherence to company standards for image transmission, quality, captioning, and delivery.
    • Provide feedback on editing processes and workflow improvements to enhance team performance.
    • Build strong relationships with internal and external clients, ensuring exceptional customer service for both editorial and client-driven assignments.
    • Serve as the key liaison during commercial workflows, ensuring client needs are consistently met.
    • Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting respect, open communication, and a positive work culture where all team members feel valued and supported.

What You’ll Need:

    • Strong editing skills with expertise in RAW workflows, photo editing, and metadata management.
    • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and client service skills.
    • Exceptional organizational skills with great attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
    • Proven ability to manage time effectively and perform well under pressure.
    • Strong leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.
    • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to ensure smooth workflows and resolve technical challenges.
    • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including evenings and weekends (valid passport required).
