As Director of Payments, you are responsible for forming and driving our strategy for making it easy for customers to transact with Getty Images, so that once a customer to decides to purchase from us they can do so easily and using their preferred payment instruments. Your role is to maximize purchase completion rates, while lowering declines, suspensions, and cancellations, ultimately to drive customer acquisition, and grow revenue and orders. 

You will be a strategic leader, in the payment processing space, for Getty Images, a global visual content licensing business with annual revenue approaching $1B. You will be responsible for developing the overall payment strategy, and then leading a cross functional team to execute that plan, with a focus on delivering improved business outcomes, and making it easy for our customers to transact with us. This will include: 


    • Development of RFP and vendor selection process including payment service providers and payment orchestrators.
    • Making data-driven recommendations on improvements we can make to our payment processing, including which payment instruments to expand into (and where).
    • Identifying friction points at the bottom of our funnel (checkout) and working with a cross functional team to launch tests and improvements to resolve. The scope of this work will include optimizing checkout globally but also within specific regions with lower conversion rates. 
    • Collaborating with technology, finance, and other groups to execute the strategic roadmap for payment processing optimization and expansion.
    • Growing our market share in high potential growth markets, through the expansion of payment instruments.
    • Identifying, monitoring, and improving KPIs related to payment processing including completion rates, declines, suspensions, and cancellations. This will include setting targets and understanding impacts achieved from prioritized initiatives and developing dashboards and standard reporting for consistent monitoring.
    • Ensuring that payment offerings, systems, and policies comply with all applicable laws and regulations
    • Scope of responsibilities will include payment processing for on-site transactions and recurring transactions.
    • Proactive management of payment processing as a revenue generating part of our operation, including by understanding emerging options, changes in the regulatory environment, and shifts in customer payment behaviors, specifically as it relates to our business. This will require a deep knowledge of both the global environment, but also expertise on specific geographies targeted for growth.
    • Reporting direct to the Chief Product Officer, but working closely and cross functionality with finance, technology, marketing and other groups, including to exceed shared goals. 

Required Skills and Experience:

    • 8+ years in payment processing with a proven track record of measurable impact.
    • Experience working in a global company with revenue transacting in multiple geos, currencies, languages, payment instruments, payment processors and payment orchestrators.
    • Strong knowledge regarding the payment processing eco-system including processors, orchestrators, merchants, and regulatory bodies, including a deep understanding regarding changes to this environment, the risks/impacts/opportunities to our business and how those should be handled. 
    • Comfortable with being accountable to specific outcomes.
    • Deep reservoir of knowledge and experience that allows you to stack rank priorities that have the greatest customer and revenue impact. You use facts and data to support your stack-ranking, ideas and proposals, and are able to outline those cases in writing. 
    • Extensive experience with b2b ecommerce businesses with a global footprint, and subscriptions/SAAS based models. 
    • Experience working in a highly cross functional manner, including being able to lead those groups and leveraging excellent influencing skills to secure buy in from colleagues and the management team. 
    • Able to communicate effectively with executive leadership. 
    • Able to identify and size opportunities for the business and gaps in our offering as it relates to payment processing. 
    • Skilled at identifying, quantifying, and mitigating risk, including as it relates to payment processing.
    • Strong analytical skills and comfort setting targets, including to model impacts of proposed initiatives.
