We have partnered with a dynamic and growing company in the farming and agriculture industry. The team is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their finance team and play a key role in supporting their financial operations and contributing to the company's continued success.

Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
    • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
    • Ensure compliance with industry-specific financial regulations and company policies.
    • Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
    • Reconcile bank statements and oversee cash management.
    • Collaborate with the Controller to provide financial analysis and insights for decision-making.
    • Support internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and responses to inquiries.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
    • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide valuable financial information.
    • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Assist with special financial projects as needed.
    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members in the finance department.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in accounting or finance, with a strong background in the farming and agriculture industry.
    • Solid understanding of financial regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to the industry.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
$120,000 - $130,000 a year
