GHJ has partnered with a well-known non-profit to help identify a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join their dynamic team.We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, compliance with relevant regulations, and the efficient operation of our financial systems. This role requires exceptional analytical abilities, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and a commitment to the mission of our organization.

Responsibilites

    • Prepare and oversee the timely and accurate completion of all financial reports, including quarterly and annual financial statements, for both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Monitor compliance with all regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and guidelines specific to non-profit organizations.
    • Coordinate with the finance team to develop and implement effective financial policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Conduct regular reviews of financial data and provide insightful analysis and recommendations to the management team for informed decision-making.
    • Collaborate with the auditing team to facilitate annual audits and ensure all financial records are well-maintained and readily available for review.
    • Manage the preparation and submission of grant-related financial reports, maintaining accurate records of all grant funds received and their designated use.
    • Assist in the development and monitoring of the organization's budget, providing valuable insights and guidance to the finance team and senior management.
    • Serve as a key resource for any financial inquiries, both internally and externally, and provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, preferably within the non-profit sector.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards, with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations and guidelines.
    • Proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to work with complex financial data.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
