We have partnered with a nonprofit organization specialized in providing health care support services who is currently seeking a Senior Accounting Manager. With a substantial operating budget of $175M and a staff of 800 employees, this role holds significant responsibility. As the Senior Accounting Manager, this person will help manage all accounting operations, including general ledger management, financial statement reporting, audit/tax preparation, and internal controls. You will report directly to and collaborate closely with the Sr. Director of Finance in all matters of accounting.

Responsibilities

    • Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
    • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
    • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
    • Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
    • Cash Management: Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and financial performance.
    • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
    • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
    • Strategic Planning: Support strategic planning initiatives by providing financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to senior management.
    • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial information effectively to internal stakeholders, including senior management, board members, and department heads.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, preferably within the healthcare or non-profit sector.
    • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with non-profit accounting principles and regulations.
    • Experience managing audits and implementing internal controls.
    • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
