About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team at [School Name], a mission-driven educational institution in Los Angeles. This role is responsible for owning the school’s budgeting process, managing financial planning, and ensuring accurate, transparent reporting. As a key partner across multiple departments, the Finance Manager will play a vital role in aligning resources with organizational goals and supporting leadership with data-driven insights.


    • Key Responsibilities
    • Lead the annual budgeting process and oversee ongoing budget management.
    • Partner with department heads to develop, monitor, and manage budgets, ensuring alignment with school objectives.
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for leadership.
    • Provide strategic financial guidance to support decision-making across academic, administrative, and operational teams.
    • Implement and maintain best practices in financial controls, reporting, and compliance.
    • Translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies.
    • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred).
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance, budgeting, or accounting (experience in education or non-profit sector a plus).
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information to non-financial audiences.
    • Proficiency with Excel, budgeting tools, and financial software
