We are seeking an experienced Grant Accountant to join one of our distinguished nonprofit partners in Los Angeles. As a Grant Accountant, you will play a vital role in grants management and ensuring compliance with regulatory accounting & financial reporting standards. What you would be doing:

    • Be the primary fiscal contact for sub-recipients and funders; understand specific grant requirements; ensure compliance on contract conditions and assurances; ensure reporting requirements are met.
    • Assist in the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including accounts payable, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, etc.
    • Collaborate with program managers and department heads to provide financial guidance and support for grant management and reporting.
    • Approve invoices and expenses related to various programs managed.
    • Stay updated on accounting regulations, nonprofit industry standards, and best practices.
    • Assist in the annual audit process by preparing supporting schedules, coordinating with auditors, and addressing inquiries.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • 2-5 of progressive nonprofit accounting experience
    • Experience with nonprofit accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Blackbaud) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
$65,000 - $75,000 a year
