About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of accounting and financial management. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency, while also serving as a strategic partner to leadership in guiding business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, a proven ability to lead teams, and prior experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Controller
Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cost accounting.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial statements to support strategic business planning.
Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations that drive operational and strategic decisions.
Oversee audits, tax filings, and compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Support cost accounting and inventory management processes, ensuring accurate product costing and margin analysis.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health of the organization.

Qualifications of the Controller
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or defense industry strongly preferred.
Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
$135,000 - $165,000 a year
