Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. This role will manage the accounting team, support strategic financial planning, and provide leadership with the financial insights needed to further the organization’s mission.

Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager
Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
Manage grant reporting and donor-restricted funds to ensure proper allocation and compliance.
Lead annual audit preparation and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
Collaborate with leadership and program managers to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, promoting efficiency and professional growth.
Provide clear financial reporting to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications of the Accounting Manager
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
At least of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in nonprofit or fund accounting strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Passion for mission-driven work and community impact.
