GHJ Search & Staffing has partnered with a well-established mission driven organization in Atlanta looking for a Controller to lead their finance/accounting team.
The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will play a pivotal role in overseeing the organization's financial operations and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for mission-driven work.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making by senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies
- Manage the annual audit process
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls
- Supervise accounting staff and provide training and support as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and resource allocation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience
- Nonprofit experience is a must
