We are partnering with a leading educational institution in Los Angeles dedicated to providing high-quality education from kindergarten through 12th grade. They are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment that empowers students to excel academically, socially, and emotionally.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controller to join their team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, accounting, and budgeting for the school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for education.

Responsibilities

    • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
    • Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making by senior leadership.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
    • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.
    • Supervise accounting staff and provide training and support as needed.
    • Coordinate annual financial audits and tax filings.
    • Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and resource allocation.
    • Monitor cash flow and investment activities to optimize financial performance.
    • Stay current on financial trends and best practices in the education sector.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a school or nonprofit organization.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
    • Experience with financial software and systems, such as Blackbaud.
