GIST is looking for an impact player to join our engineering team as a Tech Lead.

Our mission in hiring is twofold: we’re looking for a charismatic and natural leader who, as our Deputy to the Head of Engineering, can help steer our growth and manage our incoming IIT cohort (12+ engineers) as well as engage hands-on in solving complex engineering problems pertaining to the world’s sustainability crisis.

Delivering impact intelligence is hard, and developing the underlying technology platforms is even harder. Building technology products and platforms for global clients requires effective management, close mentorship, and getting your hands dirty with the team. - Plan, manage, execute and implement all development activities, inclusive of the day-to-day project management, scope management, issue and risk management, as well as regular status reporting

- Manage development projects by setting requirements, goals and timelines

- Work closely with the engineering team to design, develop, and deploy scalable technologies that will lead to increased consumer satisfaction

- Provide technical guidance and direction, as well as hands-on resource and project management, for all development activities

- Ensure the optimal application of technology resources in order to meet product development and consumer requirements and ensures the implementation of agile processes that support development processes

- Hands-on management of the development team, setting goals, budgets and timelines for various projects in collaboration with SVP-Engineering

- Perform Code Review for all major releases

- Hands-on management of front-end and back-end development teams and their projects, as well as collaboration on projects and content

- Ensure compliance with security and international data regulations

- 8+ years of work experience in a technology team at a product company, with at least 4 years of team management experience

- Proficient with Springboot, Angular (7+), MySQL, and Python

- Extensive experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS preferred)

- Experience in software engineering, and software development (SaaS) and experience working with numerous software-industry business models

- Experience in the management of a frontend or backend team through cross-functional projects and recording project progress

- A proven track record of consistent project delivery, and designing and developing complex, interactive consumer products

- A ‘roll up your sleeves’ attitude, and willingness to collaborate with and across teams

- Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work through ambiguity
