Role Description
Givebutter is hiring a Head of Engineering to oversee our engineering team and strategy. As the Head of Engineering, you will be directly responsible for delivering world-class software to our users, maturing our engineering practices, and growing & leading a team of skilled engineers. You will report directly to our CTO & Co-Founder, Liran Cohen and carry out our product vision while creating a scaleable engineering culture that breeds innovation. You will ensure we are delivering excellent user experiences in a timely manner and retain top-notch security, design, and performance. You will cultivate a culture of high performers by creating systems that eliminate roadblocks and processes that incentivize excellence. We have already built a great foundation, powering hundreds of millions of donations to over 10k+ organizations and you will take this impact much further.

Responsibilities

    • Work with our CTO to develop product vision and engineering strategy, budget, and KPIs
    • Recruit and develop both in-house and outsourced engineering talent
    • Lead the execution of new features in Givebutter’s core products: Raise, Track, Engage
    • Be a mentor to our engineers, manage check-ins, and perform code reviews
    • Improve and establish our internal engineering practices with a focus on infrastructure, performance, testing, and code quality
    • Collaborate with Design Team to establish visual design standards to be maintained across all our products
    • Collaborate with Marketing, Success, and Support teams when technical projects arise
    • Track, analyze, and improve performance, uptime, test coverage, and security penetration tests / bounty program
    • Implement workflows and processes to ensure an efficient working environment for all engineerings
    • Hold technical conversation with all stakeholders including third-party partners to understand what can be built and on what timeline

Requirements

    • 8+ years experience building and deploying production software at scale
    • 4+ years experience leading, managing, and scaling an engineering team
    • Experience managing third-party technology vendors
    • Well versed in PHP & React and their respective architecture patterns
    • Knowledgeable about trends and best practices as it relates to our tech stack and industry
    • Experience with security audits, penetration tests, and bounty programs
    • Experience managing product roadmaps and timelines
    • Strong technical leadership, mentorship, and communication skills
    • Experience working for a product-led growth company is beneficial
    • Experience managing a remote engineering team is a plus
    • Experience with fintech products is a plus
