Position: HR Specialist (Compliance)
Location: Amarillo, TX (Onsite)
Compensation: $20-24/hour

The HR Specialist, reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, plays a key role in fostering a positive employee experience. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining clear, consistent communication across the organization. By supporting processes for both contractors and W-2 employees, the HR Specialist ensures adherence to best practices, regulations, and internal standards, helping to mitigate risk and maintain organizational integrity.

What You’ll Do
The HR Specialist supports HR operations while promoting our Giving HEART values: humility, empathy, advocacy, respect, and teamwork.

Payroll & HR Support
· Manage contractor rate increase requests and contract amendments
· Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and contractors
Onboarding & Contractor Support
· Serve as backup for HR onboarding and orientations (in-person and virtual)
· Guide contractors through onboarding requirements (UKG Tasks, CPR coursework, HR policies)
· Provide compliance updates in meetings and escalate issues to HRBP as needed
Compliance & Training
· Track licenses, certifications, and compliance documents
· Ensure LMS assignments enrollment and monitor completion before in-person training
· Partner with Compliance Lead in performing routine and ad hoc audits of employee, contractor, and patient records
Document Management
· Maintain accurate HR records in Document Manager and UKG
· Verify and collect employment documentation (I-9, direct deposit)
· Perform routine documentation audits
Communication & Engagement
· Conduct Caregiver calls to help ensure contractor compliance
· Support contractors and employees via phone, email, text, or in person
Technology Support
· Troubleshoot login issues for UKG (HRIS) systems and HealthStream (LMS)
Reception & Office Support
· Provide reception coverage and assist with supply orders
· Support operations when primary contact is unavailable

What We're Looking For

    • 1+ years of Human Resources experience preferred
    • Experience interacting and engaging with candidates, patients, caregivers or employees

· Base pay: $20-24/hour
· $100 monthly cell phone reimbursement
