We are looking for a Contracts and Compliance Manager to join our team.

 
The Contracts and Compliance Manager is a support role that reports to the VP, Business Affairs to ensure that all contracts for clients, vendors, and other business partners comply with firm standards, are executed within required timelines and properly maintained and organized for reference and record-keeping. Additionally, they will be responsible for various compliance/business management tasks, including assisting with lobbying compliance/filings, client due diligence checks and onboarding, and other business operations tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

    • Providing support for a range of areas relating to GSG contracts management, including but not limited to:
    • Monitoring dedicated Contracts email inbox, responding to internal/external inquiries, and routing requests to proper recipient(s)
    • Serving as the primary point of contact for contract-related questions
    • Drafting, reviewing, and redlining a wide range of contracts (vendor, client, partner, NDAs, etc.) to ensure compliance with legal and business requirements
    • Ensuring drafts and executed documents are accurately filed for version control
    • Coordinating with internal teams to ensure proper administration of contracts (e.g., billing milestones, tracking end dates, renewals, etc.), compliance with company policies, and mitigation of risk
    • Utilizing electronic signature software to execute agreements
    • Helping to develop, maintain, and optimize contract management processes, including workflows, templates, repositories, approval systems, trackers, clause playbooks, and system updates with contract details and reminders
    • Maintaining GSG’s lobbyist registrations and submitting required filings
    • Completing client due diligence/background questionnaires and other tasks required by a client’s procurement team
    • Preparing regular reports for leadership on contract status, compliance risks, and performance metrics
    • Reviewing independent contractor compliance questionnaires and obtaining necessary approvals prior to onboarding new vendors
    • Upholding high levels of confidentiality of all sensitive materials and information
    • Assisting with other miscellaneous contract, compliance, and legal tasks as needed

Qualifications

    • 5+ years proven experience in contract management, compliance, or legal operations in either a corporate legal/procurement/supply chain setting or a professional services firm/agency setting
    • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA, JD, or paralegal certificate/experience a plus
    • Familiarity of key contract terms and understanding the impact of such terms on services to be rendered or received
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications
    • Tech-savvy and adaptable, with the ability to quickly learn new digital tools and platforms
    • Previous experience using electronic signature software preferred
    • Works well under pressure and efficiently maintains quality work product with an acute attention to detail
    • Excellent organizational skills, with a proven ability to successfully juggle multiple assignments and competing deadlines
    • Team player with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with GSG stakeholders and external client/vendor partners
    •  Natural problem-solver with good judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to manage up
    • Prior experience managing lobbying compliance, preferably in New York State and/or New York City is a plus
The base salary for this position is between $95,000 to $115,000 commensurate with experience , plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus .
