Global Strategy Group (GSG) is searching for an innovative and dynamic Technology professional to join our growing team.  This role can sit in either our NYC or Washington, DC office.

The VP, Information Technology manages all information systems and technology within the firm, providing vision, leadership, and strategic expertise to ensure best in class technology operations. This includes overseeing system design, system integration, optimization, network planning, and computer operations. 
 

Responsibilities

    • Provide vision, leadership, strategies, and solutions on all enterprise-wide IT issues 
    • Oversee GSG’s cloud-based IT landscape (e.g., Box, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Office 365, Okta, Slack, Zoom, etc.) and in-office IT infrastructure (e.g., Cisco, Dell, etc.) 
    • Work with team to structure, select, and align optimal business management systems 
    • Ensure that all employees have the technology tools needed to do their jobs; responsible for the procurement, installation, and maintenance of computer hardware and software in multiple offices 
    • Oversee GSG’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) and ensure that GSG hardware and network infrastructure are monitored and kept up-to-date, and all end user technical issues are addressed satisfactorily in a timely manner 
    • Manage GSG’s relationship with its IT software vendors and service providers, ensuring that each is meeting expected performance 
    • Develop and maintain the IT budget 
    • Test and troubleshoot existing systems on a regular basis 
    • Lead GSG’s exploration into new technology tools, including Generative AI technology.  Stay updated with latest technology developments, understand potential use cases, assess vendors, and implement solutions 
    • Recommend policies and/or practices to executive management to optimize IT operations   
    • Supervise the Cybersecurity and Compliance function, to ensure that the firm stays at the forefront of cybersecurity, data privacy protection, and disaster recovery 
    • Provide training and/or expert counsel to staff on the firm’s IT systems, technology tools, or issues 

Qualifications

    • BA or BS degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field from an accredited college/university, or equivalent combination of education and experience 
    • Demonstrated experience in building, executing and sustaining a technology platform, preferably in a professional service organization 
    • 10+ years of IT experience, system implementation, and project management for varied business systems 
    • Seven or more years of management experience and team leadership 
    • Excellent writing and communication skills to communicate technical concepts to staff, develop programs, and internal communications 
    • Problem solving skills and sound judgement 
    • Willingness to travel as needed 
    • Strong background in Windows and Office 365 environment  
    • In depth understanding of the cybersecurity landscape  
    • Cloud-based platforms: Box, Microsoft, Okta, Slack, Zoom, as well as other platforms 
    • Hardware:  PC-based laptops  

The base salary for this position is between $130,000 to $180,000 commensurate with experience, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
