What does it mean to be a Financial Accountant at GLS?
The Accounting Department serves as the ultimate source for all of the financial information of GLS. As a Financial Accountant, you will help GLS to confidently make financial decisions for the future, provide accurate reporting for our stakeholders, and ensure the company’s continued access to the capital markets. 

How will you drive value within the organization as a Financial Accountant?

    • You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the business model at GLS and assist senior leadership in resolving complex accounting issues related to GLS’ financial structure, business operations, and consolidation principles
    • You will develop a deep understanding of accounting principles related to the financial services industry and assist senior leadership in applying those principles to the evolving GLS business model
    • You will assist in the preparation of month-end closing journal entries for special purpose entities, intercompany accounts, and clearing accounts
    • You will assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory and/or tax reporting
    • You will reconcile clearing accounts to ensure the accuracy of all transactions affecting customer accounts, affiliates, and loan originations
    • You will communicate and work with external auditors and internal stakeholders
    • You will research and assist in the development of processes to account for regulatory accounting matters, complicated financial transactions, and entity formation

What should you already have to be successful in this role?

    • Minimum of bachelor’s degree required
    • Strong drive, ambition, and self-motivation
    • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
    • Commitment to exemplifying the organizational core values and key competencies
    • Ability to learn quickly and think on your feet
    • Prepared to roll up your sleeves and work hard to accomplish your goals
    • Great communication skills
