Our team is looking for an innovative biologist with relevant experience in human cellular, molecular, and/or immune biology to drive early discovery effort for new diagnostic indications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in autoimmune disease, T and B cell biology, immune cell culture and characterization, with experience in assay development. You will be responsible for developing and implementing biomarker programs for our new indication programs, proof of concept studies, and biology deep-dive studies. You will work closely with the Research group, interfacing with computational scientists, chemists, and biomedical engineers to direct the translation of preclinical research into clinical applications, to develop, validate and implement biomarkers as well as pharmacodynamic and mechanism assays. This role embraces the principles of a translational medicine mindset, with a focus on operational excellence and deep scientific rigor. The ideal candidate will have a passionate desire to help transform current diagnostic paradigms for inflammatory disease while working in an innovative and fast-paced, small-company environment.

Responsibilities

    • In collaboration with Research groups, contribute to biomarker development for inflammation or related disease programs, including pharmacokinetics and molecular proof-of-mechanisms.
    • Contribute in and lead an auto-immune Biology team.
    • Proactively employ a breadth of cell and molecular biology techniques, including gene targeting approaches and small molecule inhibition, to dissect mechanism of action.
    • Design and execute experiments to evaluate biomarker target dependency, off target liabilities, phenotypic responses, identifying role in disease pathogenesis.
    • Identifies new directions for research and contributes to Glympse Bio’s culture of innovation.
    • Regularly present research to the integrated project team highlighting implications for broader program.
    • Responsible for data processing, interpreting, and communicating results to multidisciplinary project teams and providing intellectual input.
    • Appropriately documents experimental procedures and results according to established guidelines using LIMS systems.
    • Key contributor to scientific publications.

Qualifications

    • Bachelors or Masters and 5+ years in industry or Ph.D. and 2+yearsrelevant work experience developing biomarkers in an industry setting
    • Deep experience in T and B cell biology
    • Experience with standard immunology assays (flow cytometry, ELISA, secretion) and enzyme activity assays
    • Familiarity with NGS and single-cell sequencing is a plus
    • Experience managing external CRO or other collaborations is a plus
    • Familiarity with gene therapy, synthetic biology, or biotechnology a plus
    • Experience with in vivo autoimmune disease model is a plus
    • Meticulous record keeping, documentation, and reporting of research
    • Independently learn, understand, and utilize current and developing industry techniques, and standards in a rapidly changing field
    • Highly adaptable and comfortable in an environment with dynamic priority demands
    • Strong publication and presentation record with engagement in national scientific meetings
    • Self-motivated and effective at managing multiple projects in parallel
    • Strong oral, written, and presentation communications skills
