Position Summary:
Our Screening and Automation group is seeking a motivated Research Associate who will contribute to the development of novel diagnostics in our Chemistry platform. This person will perform work at the intersection of Chemistry, Biology and Computational Science, participating in experimental design and execution, generating data, and collaborating on analyses. The individual we hire will have the opportunity to lead screening campaigns, execute on established workflows, optimize and develop new assays, and help build out new tools and functionalities.  

Responsibilities

    • Support high throughput screening platform by conducting screening campaigns, follow-up assays, sample library preparation QC, and protocol development.
    • Support processes with automation integration, sample management and tracking.
    • Interface with Chemistry, Biology, Project Management, and Computational science teams to execute on experiments in the project queues and deliver data to meet corporate deadlines.
    • Support development of novel assays for high throughput screening platform.
    • Produce high quality data and write internal reports.
    • Rigorously document research methods and results in an electronic lab notebook.
    • Survey scientific literature to identify targets of interest.

Qualifications

    • BS or MS equivalent degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or relevant discipline
    • 1-3 years industry experience in relevant laboratory setting preferred
    • Prior biochemical assay and ELISA experience preferred
    • Experience with liquid handlers such as Hamilton Star/Vantage, Agilent Bravo, Tecan preferred
    • Experience with plate readers and plate-based assays preferred
    • Prior experience with ELN and LIMS such as Benchling, CORE, Titian, Lab Guru preferred
    • Passionate about scientific discovery, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to the success of the organization
    • Exceptional organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills; ability to thrive in an interdependent and idea-rich environment
    • Ability to design and execute thoughtful experiments; troubleshoot, and implement innovative solutions
