Overview:
 
GMO’s Asia-Pacific client relations team is comprised of six staff members. Our staff are currently located in Sydney and Singapore, and the team is responsible for maintaining and advancing GMO’s competitive edge in the areas of sales, marketing and client service to provide the best service possible consistent with achieving our investment goals. We are looking to add an experienced Business Development Manager who can progress our sales efforts across the Wealth Channel in Asia (chiefly with Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand based Private Banks and Insurers).
 
Success in the business development effort will span strategizing and executing effective engagement with key players in your market segment, which ultimately translates into asset flows and revenue for the business. Existing contacts, and experience in progressing and maintaining relationships with several of these groups is ideal. A proven system of engagement rigor / sales discipline that has consistently translated into new business success in products spanning equities, fixed income and alternatives is essential.
 
This individual will be based in Singapore and report to the Head of APAC Client Relations.
 
Candidate Requirements:
 
•Demonstrated sales success with the Private Banks, Sub-Advisory / Asset Management companies, Insurers, Family Offices, and Wealth-business Consultant groups is essential, as well as experience with any associated on-boarding requirements. 
•Experience, understanding of, and ability to provide tactical and strategic input into growing sales and distribution success across the Asian Wealth channel.
•Above and beyond knowledge of the key decision makers and gatekeeps across Singapore and Hong Kong, direct experience in the Thai market would be highly desirable.
•Holding requisite MAS licenses.

•7+ years of direct responsibility for their own sales territory   
•Demonstrated sales results across a breadth of product segments including fixed income, equity and alternative markets.

•Able to work and collaborate with GMO internal teams across borders to create collective success with multi-national financial intermediaries.
•Able to engage with senior leadership at GMO to enhance our strategic plans for the Wealth channel / market segment.
•Ability to confidently communicate and be an advocate for GMO’s broad investment strategies across a wide range of sophisticated clients. 
•Demonstrated leadership – planning and execution that relates to: responding the direction of the market, related product opportunities, and longer term strategic opportunities that will significantly grow the business. 
•Strong investment acumen, intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly understand and clearly discuss GMO’s investment techniques, strategies and concepts. 
•Outstanding communication (written and oral), presentation and interpersonal skills.
