About the Role

As our Senior Frontend Engineer for the Merchant Payment team, you will be handed the reins in delivering value to our customers and deploying your technical expertise for Gojek. Along with developing the web interfaces for customer transactions and merchant operations, you will be in charge of building advanced solutions and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. Working closely with the wider engineering and business teams, you will get to leverage cutting edge desktop and mobile innovations to build these exceptional systems and products. Your efforts will directly impact the experiences both our customers and merchants have using our platform, and enhance the processes of the small and large Southeast Asian businesses alike who utilize our services.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop and manage multiple secure and reliable web applications that process and manage transactions
- Collaborate with UI/UX and Research teams to further improve current systems
- Adapt technical trends in web application to support product’s quality
- Manage product compatibility across devices
- Perform specification planning with Backend Engineers and QA
What You Will Need
- At least 6 years experience working in frontend for desktop and mobile web
- Well-versed in other non-vanilla languages (ex. TypeScript)
- Well-versed in standard frontend framework (ex. ReactJS)
- Possess a deep understanding of basic security aspects on the frontend and how to mitigate them
- Deep understanding of web technologies in various mobile systems
- Able to scope and review user stories and action on this information

Our Merchant Payments squad currently consists of passionate engineers based in Jakarta, Singapore, and Gurgaon. We run Southeast Asia’s leading selling platform for online and onsite merchants. It's our job to oversee all things related to empowering business owners, and to create a seamless and efficient payment gateway solution. We help accommodate our merchants' needs via our Gojek services to facilitate in managing and growing their businesses. The big question that we’re always trying to solve is: How can we better improve our digital experience for our merchants?
While our team is based all over the region, we are a tight-knit group who are bonded by two things: good technology and food 🙌. For real - our weekly conversations range from the tech updates and what’s new in GoFood we should order since no one in our team can’t cook.
