Around 10 years in automotive plastic design with at least 5 years of management experience. Strong understanding of Honda’s Plastic Part Development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation.
- Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
- Create part specification requirements and BOM.
- Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
- Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
- Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
- Search new ways to increase overall productivity, utilize latest technology, and reduce parts cost.
- Travel to client sites required.
- Manage Goken Nihon organization for updating company handbook/policy as needed, talent management, business development and global business coordination between global Goken locations.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in CATIA V5/3D Experience is a must
- Proficient in Solid, Surface Modelling and Drafting
- Engineering design and development experience in automotive plastic components
- Strong communication skills in Japanese language. Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese is must.
- Experience of OEM / Tier1 is must. Candidates having Japanese OEM parts development experience are preferred.
- Knowledge of milestones in automotive product development is essential.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, DMEA, GD&T and tolerance stack analysis
- Experience with MS Office tools like Excel and PowerPoint is mandatory.
- Experience with talent management and business development.
