About the role:
 As a Senior Buyer, you will play a critical role in optimizing procurement processes, ensuring order success, and mentoring junior buyers. You will be responsible for executing and improving procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring seamless logistics coordination. Your leadership and problem-solving skills will help drive operational excellence and enhance our customer experience. 

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

    • Independently execute orders across the US and Canada with GSE, ensuring quality, speed, accuracy, and competitive pricing.
    • Implement value engineering strategies to maximize order profitability and success.
    • Manage logistics, including booking trucks when required, to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
    • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior buyers, enhancing their procurement expertise.
    • Act as a key escalation point for procurement and logistics-related challenges, ensuring issues are efficiently resolved.
    • Effectively communicate procurement challenges and insights to upper management.
    • Support the team lead with additional procurement-related tasks as needed.
    • Consistently meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets.
    • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and close operational gaps impacting revenue.

What you’ll bring:

    • 3+ years of experience in an experienced procurement role (Buyer or similar).
    • Strong experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
    • Ability to handle logistics coordination, including truck booking (asset).
    • College degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field (asset).
    • Written and spoken proficiency in English and French (an asset).
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
