Position Summary
The Senior Engineer, Underwriting is part of the underwriting team within Submission & Underwriting domain.
GoodLeap's underwriting engine is a highly performant piece of tech which is critical to the overall business.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with Product owners to evaluate requirements for impactful features.
    • Be a subject matter expert on underwriting engine for all stakeholders.
    • Lead the architecture and solution designs for new projects.
    • Formulate a technical roadmap to improve the performance and availability of the stack.
    • Mentor team members through guidance & skills development.
    • Participate in data design and architecture discussions, considering solutions in the context of the larger GoodLeap ecosystem.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

    • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
    • 4-7 years of full-time Software Development experience
    • Experience in building applications with .NET/C#
    • Expertise with relational databases (including functional SQL/stored procedures) and non- relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elastic Search)
    • Experience building robust backend services and REST APIs using .Net, Node.js and GraphQL
    • Solid understanding of performance implications and scalability of code
    • Experience with Amazon Web Services ( ECS, EKS, Serverless, VPC, S3, IAM)
    • Experience with messaging paradigms and server-less technologies (Lambda, SQS, SNS, SES)
    • Experience with large, complex codebases and know how to maintain them
$137,000 - $160,000 a year
In addition to the above salary, this role may be eligible for a bonus.
