Summary:
The Project Specialist is responsible for managing a pipeline of uncompleted customer solar and home improvement projects within GoodLeap’s portfolio. In this role, Project Specialists will work with contractors, utility companies, AHJ’s, and customers to ensure all requirements are met for customers to operate their equipment. For solar customers, this equates to obtaining utility approval and Permission to Operate. Home improvement projects could require specific local permitting for project completion. Additionally, this role is tasked with researching and documenting utility and AHJ processes in new territories to streamline future application submissions.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Working with solar O&M companies to ensure systems pass the inspection phase
    • Prepare and submit utility interconnection applications for solar projects
    • Proactively work with utility companies and local AHJ’s to follow-up on existing permit and interconnection applications to ensure timely approvals
    • Maintain ongoing customer communication and collect necessary signatures/documents
    • Thoroughly research and document utility solar interconnection processes in specific regions 
    • Create and manage Salesforce cases for all active projects with a high level of accuracy
    •  Handle escalated customer interactions with care and help to create solutions for customer project issues

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the solar or home improvement industry
    • Intermediate Excel and CRM (Salesforce) knowledge
    • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills
    • Team player, collaborative, able to work with others
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Familiarity with solar interconnections preferred
Compensation:  $21 per hour
