We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the development of AI-powered applications that transform how homeowners and external energy providers interact with and manage their home and energy footprint. This role will be at the forefront of introducing our AI agent into the consumer journey, not as a passive assistant but as a true copilot that takes on tasks, anticipates needs, delivers insights, and proactively drives outcomes across both the Homeowner App and our Virtual Power Plant platform.
You will work closely with both the Consumer BU engineering teams (Homeowner App and VPP) and the AI Platform team, taking full ownership of the consumer application experiences, flows, and integrations that bring our AI agent to life. Operating at a highly strategic, cross functional, and execution driven level, you will contribute to the vision for how AI powers consumer facing products, drive adoption, and ensure the agent becomes a trusted and indispensable copilot for homeowners and external energy providers.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the consumer AI product vision, establishing the roadmap for AI-driven experiences across the Homeowner App and VPP platform, and translating business goals into applications that deliver measurable impact for homeowners and energy providers.
- Drive agentic experiences by embedding the AI agent into core consumer journeys, delivering proactive insights and recommendations, and enabling meaningful actions on behalf of users.
- Lead integrations and applications by partnering with engineering, design, and data science to deliver end-to-end AI features, shaping frameworks for experimentation and conversational UX, and collaborating with the AI Platform team on APIs, guardrails, and model capabilities.
- Champion the copilot vision by evolving the AI agent into a trusted partner that empowers homeowners to manage their homes and enables energy providers to optimize grid participation, with a focus on building trust through transparency, reliability, and user control.
- Measure and iterate by defining and tracking KPIs such as engagement, task completion rates, retention, NPS, and cost-to-serve reduction, and continuously refining AI-driven experiences based on behavioral data and feedback loops.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 4+ years in AI/ML-driven products or consumer applications.
- Proven track record of shipping consumer-facing products at scale, ideally with conversational AI, recommendation systems, or agentic experiences.
- Strong understanding of AI UX principles including trust and safety, proactive vs. reactive experiences, and agentic design.
- High technical acumen: able to work closely with platform/ML teams, understand API-driven integrations, and make sound architecture tradeoffs.
- Exceptional strategic thinker and operator: able to articulate a bold vision while driving execution at pace.
- Excellent cross functional leadership skills: influence without authority, build alignment, and inspire teams.
- Passion for building AI that delivers real world value to homeowners and energy providers.
$215,000 - $250,000 a year
In addition to the above salary, this role may be eligible for a bonus and equity.
