Goodwall Partnerships Program - Academic Internship 2019/2020
Goodwall is the next generation community for students and young professionals to connect over shared interests, discover opportunities from scholarships to jobs and ultimately achieve their personal and professional goals. Goodwall was founded by two brothers, Taha and Omar Bawa, who’ve been recognized as social entrepreneurs by Forbes 30 Under 30, the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers, and the Kairos Society. They started Goodwall to leverage technology to impact society positively. Goodwall’s top-rated apps are available on both iOS and Android.
At Goodwall, we’re on a mission guide young talent to maximize their potential, impact society positively and navigate the future of learning and earning. We’re leveling the playing field by providing access to our network and opportunities (SDG10). We help high school students win scholarships and get into university (SDG4). We help university students prepare for their careers and discover internships. We help graduates and young professionals get hired (SDG8).
At the heart of Goodwall is a positive and supportive community with over 1 million members in 150+ countries. Goodwall offers a safe, inclusive environment for Gen Z to network, pitch ideas, share tips, ask and answer questions, chat, gain recognition and effect change.
We are looking for a motivated and passionate intern to support our partnership (SDG17) efforts with startups, NGOs, international organizations, hackathons, and startup pitch competitions. In particular, Goodwall has recently launched the ability to pitch ideas in 30s through vertical video to our audience of 1m+ members. We would like to launch campaigns and challenges to encourage our community and youth outside our community to pitch their ideas and share their actions related to addressing the SDGs. For example, on November 18th, we’re launching an Entrepreneurship (SDG8) Challenge during Global Entrepreneurship Week. On December 1st, World AIDs Day, we’re launching a Fight HIV/AIDs DAY with UNAIDs and the Health Innovation Exchange (SDG3). In November and December, in parallel to UN COP25 and the Global Climate Strike, we’re launching a Climate Action and Idea Challenge (SDG13) with the Trillion Trees Campaign, UNEP, Climathons and Climate-Kic. We intend to continue to organize similar partner-driven monthly SDG related challenges.
You will assist in lead generation, managing our CRM, and outreach to potential partners, as well as on-boarding partner institutions’ point persons onto the Goodwall platform. You will also assist with running and launching the challenges and campaigns. Your support will help ensure that we maintain a healthy pipeline of startup and NGO partners, and that the benefits of these partnerships are optimized for both parties. Beyond the challenges and campaigns, you will also seek partnerships to provide educational and professional opportunities for Goodwall’s community (SDG 4 and 8) and connect Goodwall to International Geneva’s network of organisations to collaborate. This internship will help sharpen your project management and relationship building skills, and provide you with knowledge of various business development strategies. You will also be exposed to a highly entrepreneurial and social impact-focused network. Ultimately, this internship should prepare you to work in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced work environment.
