About the job
The VP Project Operations will build and maintain a solid working relationship both internally with colleagues and externally with clients and partners from pre-sales efforts to project delivery. The ability to manage customer expectations and establish long-term partnerships by delivering complex projects effectively, on time, on budget, and according to agreed-upon scope, is critical to the role. Key to success is the ability to identify the resources necessary and ensure that they  are allocated and prioritized in order to ensure successful project delivery 

The VP Project Operations will work with a team of 3 to 4 Delivery Managers to ensure timely and quality delivery for all of the Company’s clients and partners. This includes helping more junior Managers navigate difficult situations, serving as the primary escalation point for any issues they may encounter and ensuring the successful delivery of the projects of each member of the team. He/she reports directly to the CEO.

What you'll be doing:
Hands-on project management, including initiation, planning, and execution of projects and account-related activities, facilitating resolution of issues and roadblocks to ensure success
Ensure that the full scope/contractual agreement  of each project is feasible, and will be successful, given product constraints
Manage and appropriately address project escalations pertaining to budget, scope, performance, deadlines, product, etc.
Drive key decisions across projects, manage customer expectations, present and interface with CEO to decide and communicate trade-offs and risks
Support the CEO by contributing to Goodwall’s sales and partnership efforts by establishing relationships with key customers, understanding Goodwall’s value proposition and offerings and aligning them with customer needs to grow the business and user base
Oversee and mentor a team of Managers that are responsible for  excellent customer service and project delivery

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Experience leading, mentoring, and managing junior employees in a direct-line capacity
5+ years of experience in consulting, ideally at a Manager or Director level
Proven ability to navigate challenging customer environments and affect change while delivering excellent service
Strong communication skills and experience presenting to executives
Attention to both the ‘big picture’ process and ‘nitty gritty’ detail 
Solid knowledge of project management software and best practices
Self-starter with results oriented, proactive management approach
A willingness to tackle work outside of your area of expertise and experience, and "learn as you go"
A strong desire to share knowledge, work collaboratively and continuously improve business results
Technical background (software development/engineering, systems administration, testing/QA, technical management) or background in operations  in a tech start-up would be a plus
