Principal Data Solutions Architect

Gorilla Logic seeks an exceptionally talented and innovative Principal Solutions Architect specializing in modern data architecture to elevate our Solutions team. Our team, composed of a diverse mix of multi-skilled Solutions Architects and Strategic Designers, operates at the intersection of technology and strategy. This role serves as a principal figure within Gorilla Logic's Solutions department and reports directly to the CTO. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern data architecture, including proficiency with enterprise-scale data platforms, expertise in data ingestion and transformation processes, and a solid foundation in deploying machine learning algorithms. Experience in enabling real-time integration with enterprise systems, conducting advanced analytics, and implementing solutions that drive actionable insights are essential for success in this role.


Role Overview

As a Principal Data Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing a comprehensive systems architecture tailored to meet our clients' unique needs. Your responsibilities range from gathering client requirements and functional specifications to evaluating existing software systems for opportunities for improvement. You will also provide leadership and oversight to development teams. Each team member actively participates in technical pre-sales, high-level architecture and design, and solution development.


Responsibilities

*Shape the vision and solution architecture for a repeatable data, ML, or AI solution or offering, including technology, client, and industry alignment.
*Build and lead a working group to evolve the solution/offering based on demand signals and emerging technology evolution in the Data & AI arena.
*Prioritize and nominate features for elimination based on existing client delivery and emerging pursuit needs.
*Participate in client discovery calls to tell the Gorilla Logic story around Data, ML, and AI and showcase GL capabilities and experience for a prospective client.
*Contribute architecture recommendations, delivery approach, solution templates, and delivery estimates to sales pursuits and proposals in the Data & AI arena.
*Partner with the Sales organization on strategic account management, innovation investments, alliances, and periodic business reviews, including some accounts that may not be using Data & AI specifically.
*Lead the design and implementation of modern data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time analytics platforms.
*Define data governance and quality frameworks to ensure data integrity and compliance with relevant regulations.
*Develop ETL processes and data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
*Stay updated on advancements in data technologies and architectures.


Requirements

*A bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required; a master's in Data Science or a related field is preferred.
*Proven experience for multiple years serving enterprise-scale clients with modern data architecture. Demonstrated client-facing experience and skills to support sales activities.
*Proficiency in cloud-based big data services such as Amazon Redshift, Athena, Kinesis, Glue, EMR, Google BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Azure HDInsight, Synapse Analytics, Stream Analytics, Databricks, and Snowflake.
*Knowledge of data processing and storage with services like the Hadoop ecosystem, Apache Spark, and Apache Kafka.
*Experience in integrating AI and machine learning models into data architectures. Understanding of ML libraries such as Pytorch, TensorFlow, or MLlib.
*Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Couchbase, and Cassandra.
Cloud architecture certifications like AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, Google Professional Data Engineer, Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate are highly desirable.
*Knowledge of data governance frameworks and security best practices. Familiarity with tools and technologies for data encryption, masking, and compliance.
*Professional development experience, particularly with Python, R, or SQL.
*Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools like Tableau or Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
*Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
*Strong organizational and leadership skills, capable of managing competing client demands, multiple priorities, commitments, and projects.
*Team player with the ability to objectively negotiate and appreciate different points of view.
