About the Role

We are looking for highly proven competitive sales professional with a demonstrated track record of achievement in enterprise sales, and a strong desire to accelerate their career, to join our team as an The goal of the sales team is to scale uConnect’s Virtual Career Center platform to colleges and universities across the world. You will be constantly engaged with senior-level administrators, driving conversations forward to spark new business opportunities. You will be responsible for all aspects of acquiring new customers, from first point of contact to close, developing and cultivating trusted, strategic relationships with buyers and influencers - including Directors, Vice Presidents, Deans and Provosts - to understand their goals, and demonstrate how uConnect can elevate their work and scale their impact on student outcomes. In addition to closing new business, you will work closely with uConnect’s customer success team to strategically expand accounts over time. Candidates are expected to be passionate and extremely knowledgeable about modern sales methodologies, and have a strong sense of purpose to change the future of career education.

About the Responsibilities

    • Strong storytelling capability, authentically connecting value to customer needs and mission
    • Extreme comfort communicating product value through email, online product demonstrations, video/phone conferences, and in-person meetings and conferences
    • A knack for identifying and developing customer champions to improve conversion  
    • A desire to build, lead and grow your own book of strategic accounts within the higher education vertical
    • The ability to drive significant growth through new client acquisition and cross-selling
    • An understanding to develop, define, and execute engagement strategies for key targets
    • 100% ownership of each aspect of the sales cycle
    • Sustained success sourcing large enterprise accounts through cold outreach 
    • Outstanding performance in a fast-paced and highly competitive sales environment 
    • Ability to manage a high-volume of outbound and inbound interactions 
    • Disciplined in living in a CRM system (eg, Hubspot) to manage your pipeline 
    • Accurately forecast quarterly revenue achievements and sales activities

About You and What Types of Skills You'll Need

    • Minimum 2+ years experience of closing customer deals in a B2B SaaS sales environment with a demonstrable record of hitting and exceeding your sales targets 
    • Experience executing a disciplined consultative “enterprise” sales process, targeting Director and VP level buyers across multiple functions or business units
    • Experience in higher education is preferred. Interest in the future of higher education is recommended.
    • Demonstrated track record of opening new business relationships with mid-sized and larger institutions and / or businesses.
    • Comfort and experience working in a remote-first setting, including working knowledge of common tools for collaborating remotely (ie. Zoom, Slack, G Suite etc.)
    • Willingness to travel for onsite presentations and trade shows / conferences (as feasible).
    • Persistent -- you are accountable for your own activity and success
