About the role  
In this role, you'll be the face of technology for our organization providing strategic contribution on team structure and technical direction for our amazing product! We're very proud of what we've achieved so far and want you to be excited about it, too. We are confident that with your outstanding knowledge of the SaaS marketplace, WordPress, and people leadership, you will help take us to the next level. 

We're a start-up, so you'll have to be comfortable with fast-paced, rapidly evolving business needs. We want someone who doesn't just survive in these waters but thrives. You'll be expected to bring opinions about every aspect of the business, listen, and be open to views from every corner. We will put our trust in you to drive the technical part of this business, so we need you to be invested.

What will you be responsible for

    • Leadership and management of all aspects of the technical team and development processes.  
    • Supporting C-suite leadership with the technical strategy for product development and innovation.
    • Creating a supportive and collaborative remote-first environment of designers, engineers, and developers that integrates with the rest of our business areas.
    • Providing direct guidance and support to the Customer Success and Sales teams as an ongoing priority.
    • Evangelizing uConnect in WordPress, social media, and online communities.
    • Occasionally rolling up your sleeves, coding, conducting code reviews, and generally being willing to "jump in."
    • Growing the technology team members as professionals - providing coaching, support, and advice as needed.
    • Implementing SDLC best practices across the organization.

What we'd expect in an ideal candidate

    • WordPress passion and proven development experience.
    • Vision for how to structure product development teams.
    • Ability to guide our current process into an Agile methodology training our team along the way.
    • Strong cross-functional support playbook and ability to build bridges with our other functional teams.
    • Experience working with AWS / LAMP stacks in a HA environment.
    • Understanding of the open-source marketplace, including risk and security considerations.

What else might you need to be successful in this role

    •  A regular presence in the online community (blog, youtube, Twitter following)
    • Being genuinely curious and excited to learn new things, tinker, and ideate.
    • Desire to be part of a group trying to change the world.
    • An ability to support a CI/CD pipeline.
