The Director of Logistics is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies across new and existing customers, in addition to actively managing the current routing infrastructure of the company. This individual will drive rate management, routing optimization, customer financial analysis, and pricing automation to support the company’s growth and profitability. The Director will oversee a team, work cross-functionally to support various business verticals (healthcare, retail, automotive, etc.), and implement solutions across varying delivery vehicle profiles aligned with market demands and service level expectations. This role is essential to ensuring competitive, consistent, and cost-effective delivery solutions in a dynamic logistics environment.

Individual tasks shall include but not be limited to the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead and mentor a team to develop and execute pricing strategies for all new and existing customer contracts to achieve department goals.
    • Continually manage and analyze rates to ensure strategic market alignment, for competitive pricing, operational costs, and service levels.
    • Lead ongoing route optimization and network design initiatives to proactively enhance customer service and control operational costs.
    • Implement and manage routing and pricing automation, including integration of static and dynamic models.
    • Design vertical-specific standardized pricing methodologies across healthcare, retail, and automotive sectors.
    • Develop and maintain internal billing templates, pricing models, and pay structures for independent contractor (IC) and Vendor (agent) driver models.
    • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, IT, and Finance to provide logistics input for sales proposal development, enabling smooth customer onboarding and alignment across functions.
    • Utilize data to build compelling pricing proposals and present recommendations to senior leadership and clients.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cost and enhance profitability.
    • Ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
    • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Lead and manage high-performing logistics teams with a focus on operational excellence.
    • Drive logistics pricing strategy, routing, and rating model development.
    • Design and implement scalable, cost-effective final mile solutions.
    • Develop and maintain advanced financial models in Microsoft Excel.
    • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to data-driven decision-making.
    • Deliver clear, impactful presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to align logistics strategies with broader business goals.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through adaptive service approaches.
    • Build innovative, scalable solutions that support growth and efficiency.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Qualifications - Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses:

    • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
    • Significant experience in logistics management with a focus on pricing and routing.
    • Minimum 4 years of leadership experience managing direct reports.
    • Demonstrated experience in developing pricing strategies, routing methodologies, and internal automation systems.
    • Residence in Eastern or Central Time Zone (remote role).
    • Industry experience in Healthcare, Pool Distribution, or Courier sectors is preferred.
    • Experience with transportation management technology or managed transportation solutions is preferred.
    • Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus.
Shift Days: Monday-Friday
Shift Hours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM (Available to work extra hours, weekends, and holidays preferred.)
Pay Rate: $135,000 salaried (Dependent upon experience level.)
