EarthWork Seeds (EWS) is a vegetable germplasm development company based in Davis, CA. EWS focuses on breeding, production, and wholesale distribution of high quality vegetable cultivars across a diverse range of crops and countries.
We are seeking to fill a newly created Operation Assistant role. This position will report to EWS Production Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process orders received from domestic or international customers and sales. Ensure proper communication between sales staff, customers and production sharing accurate information in timely matter.
- Manage all transactions in the ERP system, such as seed movements, reclassification, quality testing information.
- Continuous monitoring of all orders to ensure on time delivery to meet customer’s expectations.
- Execute order processing by managing export documentation and all logistics requirements.
- Manage inventories as well as lab information on quality seed and validate that forecast can be met, communicate to the appropriate stakeholder in case if any deviation or unplanned event.
- Pulling samples for trials & QA testing.
- Manage the shipping and receiving of all shipments with customers, vendors, and our warehouse.
- Maintain updated and accurate information regarding customers and country requirements.
- Support any additional needs to grow our business
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor degree in Business or Agriculture or equivalent
- 3 – 5 years' experience in customer service / operation assistant position
- Experience in seeds industry a plus
- Experience with ERP systems
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Must be proficient in English; Spanish a plus
- Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook and Access experience
