Role Overview:

The Portfolio Executive (PE) is a strategic customer centric role that will enable Account Managers to deliver exceptional results to their stakeholders. The PE responsibilities include the following:

Account Management Responsibilities:

    • Provide executive sponsorship on select accounts
    • Lead one of three national Account Management teams

Serve as Executive Sponsor for 6-8 accounts:

    • Participate in strategy and quarterly meetings, along with AM
    • Partner with AM’s to cultivate customer relationships including senior benefit/HR Leader
    • Provide issue escalation support
    • Coach and support AMs on relationship health and revenue expansion opportunities
    • Leverage industry knowledge with customers

Lead Account Managers in the following areas for all accounts:

    • Implementation support
    • Annual Account Planning
    • Communication plans
    • Managing ROI and PG’s
    • Expansion opportunities
    • Renewal plans
    • Risk mitigation plans
    • Escalation support

Sales Responsibilities:

    • Support sales team/sales enablement team in proposal development
    • Participate in sales meetings as needed
    • Provide feedback on competitors
    • Ensure new contracts align with delivery capabilities and aligned resources

Internal Relationship Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with internal teams (product, data analytics, engagement, care team) to share customer feedback and industry knowledge; contribute to the development of innovative solutions for customers
    • Advocate for process improvements in support of AM efficiency, improved customer engagement, and/or driving healthy outcomes for patients.

External Relationship Responsibilities:

    • Participate in appropriate external organizations and conferences
    • Coordinate with Partner Relations team and Sales to foster and manage relationships with consultants, brokers, carriers and other vendor partners
    • Be visible in the market as senior Grand Rounds leaders


    • 15+ years’ experience in healthcare industry preferably in customer-facing roles
    • 5+ years’ management experience
    • Experience managing demanding customers in a B2B environment
    • Successful track record managing customer relationships in multi-year contract cycles
    • Track record achieving customer renewal goals
    • Significant success with significant up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
