The Systems Engineer III for Enterprise Storage is part of the Infrastructure Engineering team at Granicus.  The team supports and maintains infrastructure hardware, software, and critical systems with a focus on security, availability, and scalability. The ideal candidate is an experienced infrastructure storage engineer with significant enterprise experience designing and creating storage systems and maintaining the hardware.

What You'll Do: 

    • Provision and allocate storage to server assets (VMware, Windows and Linux based VMs), including assignment of iSCSI LUN, NFS and CIFS volume configurations  
    • Follow infrastructure team processes and actively seek to improve them, especially as it relates to implementing automation of repeatable tasks 
    • Identify and fix problem areas in the existing storage infrastructure 
    • Execute quality changes and provide peer reviews for changes 
    • As part of an on-call team, triage and troubleshoot efficiently and effectively during production incidents 
    • Ensure storage hardware, filesystems and storage resources are logged and monitored along with appropriate actions for events 
    • Analyze log files and other infrastructure data using available tools 
    • Develop documentation to empower other team members and accurately represent storage projects and procedures 
    • Plan for and install new software/firmware releases and hardware/software upgrades for storage infrastructure to meet security and supportability requirements 
    • Act as a point of escalation for other Storage Systems Engineers 
    • Manage regular patching and other activities to address security vulnerabilities 

Who You Are: 

    • You have 5+ years of relevant experience providing infrastructure systems support 
    • You have 3+ years of experience designing and supporting advanced storage in a virtualized, Enterprise-level infrastructure 
    • You have 2+ years of experience scripting / and automating repeatable tasks (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, PowerShell) 
    • You have specific technical experience with: 
    • Performance analysis and troubleshooting of shared storage resources 
    • Data recovery and backup strategies for critical systems 
    • SnapMirror functionality 
    • You have experience working to comply with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-53 and/or FedRAMP 
    • You have worked in a large enterprise environment, providing storage or infrastructure support 
    • You are passionate about technology and keep abreast of technical developments in your field 
    • You are a motivated self-starter capable of picking up work on your own 
    • You are a proven technical leader, capable of identifying problems and then designing, and implementing solutions 

Specific System Experience:

    • The ideal candidate has some level of experience with the following infrastructure technologies (bonus if your experience matches the specific products at Granicus in parenthesis): 
    • Network Storage systems (NetApp) 
    • DNS and IP Management (Infoblox) 
    • System monitoring tools (LogicMonitor) 
    • Cloud Storage (AWS, Azure, GCP)
