Are you passionate about navigating complex regulations to drive positive impact? The Compliance Manager plays a vital role in supporting Gravie's commitment to understanding and adhering to the intricate regulatory landscape governing health benefits. This individual will be a key contributor in shaping our compliance operations, providing essential guidance on cutting-edge plan designs, and actively fostering a culture of integrity that underpins our mission to transform healthcare. You Will:
● Regulatory Monitoring & Analysis:
○ Monitor changes in federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and related guidance.
○ Analyze the impact of new or revised regulations on Gravie's operations, products, and services, and help communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
○ Support the project management and implementation of new regulatory requirements, helping to ensure end-to-end documentation of successful implementation and ongoing compliance.
● Plan Document & SPD Compliance:
○ Support the review, development, and maintenance of Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) and other member-facing regulatory materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with all applicable laws (e.g., ERISA disclosure requirements, ACA mandates).
○ Assist with SPD and SBC amendments and updates.
○ Assist with compliance efforts for Gravie's non-ERISA book of business, including conducting state research and supporting the development of compliant plan documents.
● Benefit Design & Administration Compliance:
○ Provide compliance assistance on health plan design, eligibility, benefits, and administration.
○ Contribute to the review and advise on proposed plan variations, exceptions, and unique benefit requests, assessing compliance implications.
● State Regulatory Filings & Reporting Support:
○ Facilitate and track state regulatory filings, including TPA licensing, Secretary of State qualifications, and annual reports.
● Regulatory Inquiry & Complaint Response Support:
○ Support the response efforts to regulatory inquiries and complaints from agencies (e.g., DOL, State Insurance Departments, Attorney General) in a timely and comprehensive manner.
● Compliance Program Operations & Documentation:
○ Assist in building and refining processes to document all compliance activities and decisions. This includes managing the end-to-end compliance investigation process when gaps or potential issues are identified, ensuring thorough documentation of findings and resolutions, and ongoing monitoring.
○ Help develop and support the oversight of the intake processes for new compliance requests and inquiries from internal stakeholders.
You Bring:
● Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Legal Studies).
● 3-5 years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance, specifically with group health plans.
● Demonstrated knowledge of ERISA, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and other regulatory frameworks applicable to self-funded commercial health plans is required.
● Experience with plan documents, SPDs, and benefit administration processes.
● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating legal requirements into practical business guidance.
● Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
● High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ethical conduct.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 annually. Numerous factors including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. will be considered when determining compensation.
