About the Job
As Chief of Staff at Gravis, you’ll be a force-multiplier for productivity across the company, shaping high-level strategy while supporting day-to-day operational processes. You will report directly to the CEO, and partner with the leadership team to streamline organizational performance, fostering our culture of growth and innovation through direct engagement with critical cognitive tasks, projects, & personnel. Your financial acumen, drive, and operational experience will enable you to bridge diverse gaps as Gravis grows—allowing you to own and manage important elements of our finances, business strategy, and operations.

Role responsibilities

    • Strategic counsel:  Act as a sparring partner to the CEO and executive team, supporting the translation of strategic ideas into actions & processes and identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.
    • Special projects & new initiatives:  Take on cross-functional challenges as they emerge, and identify and manage the appropriate timing and profiles for these to transition into new roles/hires (additionally supporting in the hiring process).
    • Finance:  Drive the adoption of efficient processes and technology to support strategic finances, and to streamline communication with external accounting.
    • Growth & culture building:  Creatively support our rapid transition from a small academic startup to powerhouse of construction automation, eliminating bottlenecks and bureaucracy while growing HR with a mind for employee performance and satisfaction.
    • Business development & sales:  Work together with our CBDO to support and refine our sales pipeline, with a commitment to efficient processes and the essential relationship of customer ROI to our financial strategy.  Share the load in communicating-with and maintaining customers, including crafting proposals, reviewing contracts, and preparing reports.
    • Corporate Processes:  Contribute to the preparation of internal and investor communication and reporting, including monthly shareholder reports, Board of Directors meeting preparation, company update meetings.  Manage the cadence and follow-through for executive team meetings, and aid in shaping and monitoring core value drivers and OKRs.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
    • Impeccable organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Drive to find opportunities hidden within ambiguity and constant change.
    • 1-3 years proven experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a fast-paced zero-to-one environment, or in top-tier management consulting / investment banking (or equivalent).
    • Experience with financial modeling and enterprise resource planning strategies.
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in new situations.
    • Ability to proactively manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills:  you are a capable public speaker and confident writer with a firm grasp of the English language.  You can distill complex ideas for non-experts.
    • Emotional intelligence to build and maintain trust with diverse employees, customers, and peers. 

Preferred

    • Master’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
    • Experience in the fields of AI, robotics, AEC (architecture, engineering & construction), or gaming.
