About the Role:
We’re hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the charge in scaling and securing our infrastructure and data integrations. This role is pivotal in managing our DevOps environment and building robust, high-throughput pipelines that connect Grayscale to third-party platforms in the HR tech ecosystem (ATS and HRIS). You’ll work across infrastructure, data engineering, and integration layers, helping Grayscale deliver a seamless experience to millions of job candidates.This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in startup environments, enjoys solving complex system challenges, and wants to play a lead role in technical architecture and infrastructure operations.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

    • Infrastructure Ownership: Design, maintain, and evolve our AWS-based infrastructure to support scalability, reliability, and performance.
    • Data Integration: Build and optimize large-scale data pipelines that process high volumes of candidate and employee data across platforms like Workday, SuccessFactors, and Greenhouse.
    • Platform Connectivity: Lead development of integrations with external HRIS and ATS systems using APIs (REST/SOAP) and message queues.
    • DevOps & Tooling: Manage CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and improve system observability through monitoring and alerting tools.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Support, and Implementation teams to ensure our infrastructure meets product and operational requirements.
    • On-call Rotation: Participate in the on-call schedule to maintain uptime and support critical services.

What We're Looking For:

    • 4+ years of experience as a software or infrastructure engineer, ideally with experience in a high-growth or startup setting.
    • Strong DevOps and infrastructure-as-code expertise (Terraform preferred).
    • Deep experience with AWS (ECS, EC2, S3, Kinesis, CloudWatch, Route 53, etc.).
    • Proficient in Ruby on Rails and familiar with async processing tools like Sidekiq and Shoryuken.
    • Experience building or maintaining large-scale integrations with 3rd-party APIs (REST, SOAP).
    • Strong understanding of secure data practices (SOC2, PII, GDPR, OWASP).
    • Experience with CI/CD tooling (Semaphore, GitHub Actions) and monitoring platforms (Datadog, OpsGenie).
    • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills in distributed systems.

    • Tooling: GraphQL (Apollo), Semaphore, GitHub, Datadog, Zoom, Slack
