About the Role:
We’re hiring a Senior Engineer to help build AI-powered product features using large language models (LLMs). This is a hands-on development role focused on production-grade applications powered by services like AWS Bedrock—not a machine learning research position. You'll be building end-user features from scratch, working with technologies like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and real-time conversational AI. This role is ideal for engineers excited about applying LLMs to solve real customer problems in HR tech.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- AI-Powered Feature Development: Build and launch product features using LLMs (via AWS Bedrock), prompt engineering, and RAG patterns.
- System Design & Implementation: Contribute to the design and development of scalable AI-powered systems and APIs.
- Rapid Prototyping: Translate product ideas into functional prototypes and iterate quickly based on feedback.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Support to define requirements and deliver impactful features.
- Operational Support: Write well-instrumented code, contribute to monitoring efforts, and participate in on-call support when needed.
What We're Looking For:
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer building user-facing products.
- Experience building and deploying LLM-powered features (AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, or similar).
- Familiarity with RAG, vector search, and embedding techniques.
- Experience with orchestration frameworks like Langchain is a plus.
- Strong backend development skills (Ruby on Rails preferred) and experience designing APIs (REST or GraphQL).
- Comfort building features from the ground up in a fast-paced, startup environment.
