We’re looking for a quality-focused engineer to help embed a culture of test automation within our web team. In this role, you’ll work closely with developers to deeply understand the complexities of features and build robust automated tests that support our in-sprint development efforts. You’ll also contribute to and improve our automation frameworks, ensuring our testing approach scales with our product. Beyond test creation, you'll support the team’s CI/CD efforts by integrating API tests into our pipelines and ensuring our test suites run efficiently across multiple environments.

Your day-to-day:

    • You will be building and maintaining automated tests at the integration and e2e level; coding in multiple languages (Java, Javascript, Kotlin, Swift) to support high inter sprint coverage
    • You will be coding in multiple languages (Javascript, Kotlin, Swift) to support high inter print test coverage
    • Writing out Github actions to run as part of the development pipeline 
    • Determining team needs and gaps in existing automation tooling, and acting on these gaps proactively to address quality gaps on the team
    • Owning testing metrics along with the Engineering Manager to identify gaps and roll up the quality view to a team level
    • Partner with Product and Quality Engineers to translate user stories and requirements into automated test cases

What you’ll bring to the team:

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) roles
    • You will be proactive and resourceful. You will demonstrate grit, and a positive "can do" attitude; acting without being told
    • You’ll demonstrate “follow-through”; delivering on commitments with minimal oversight
    • A high aptitude for picking up new technologies, new processes, and different ways of working
    • You're analytical and pragmatic
    • Proven experience as a full-stack test engineer or developer tools engineer
    • Strong expertise in at least 1 programming language: Javascript/Typescript, Kotlin, or Swift
    • Understanding of microservices architecture and how to test them
    • A strong understanding of the testing pyramid and its levels.
    • Ability to contribute to CI scripting work in Github Actions or similar CI provider
    • Drive to improve quality, and take ownership of the feature team outcomes through a data driven lens

    • Experience with gRPC

Our stance on salaries:
Greenlight provides a competitive compensation package with a market-based approach to pay and will vary depending on your location, experience and skill set. The total compensation package for this position will also include a discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401K match, and more. Greenlight conducts continuous compensation evaluations across departments and geographies to ensure we are keeping our pay current and competitive.

The estimated base pay range for this position in (NY, CA, WA): $140,000- 175,000
The estimated base pay range for this position in (CO): 140,000- 165,000
