We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team on a part-time/casual basis. The nurse will administer infusion therapy for GreenShield-NKS rotating between clinics in Mississauga and Hamilton region.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient and customer service in keeping with GreenShield-NKS Health values.
- Administer intravenous therapy and monitor patients under the care of a physician.
- Administer intramuscular vaccination and TB skin testing as ordered
- Take appropriate action in situations where the safety and well-being of the patient may be compromised.
- Adhere to best work safety practices and procedures
- Report Adverse Events as needed
- Adhere to nursing practices as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Commitment to continuing education
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-years experience with IVs, hospital nursing preferred
- Experience with IV antibiotics, and biologics preferred
- Experience with Pediatric patient population an asset
- Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Current BLS required. ACLS an asset
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written required.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
- Excellent patient assessment and teaching skills.
- Possesses the physical ability to perform the day-to-day duties described in the duties and responsibilities.
- OK to commute to Hamilton or North York 1-3 times per month.
