Gridmatic Inc. is a high-growth startup with offices in the Bay Area and Houston that is accelerating the clean energy transition by applying our expertise in data, machine learning, and energy to power markets. We are the rare startup that has multiple years of profitability without raising venture capital. Gridmatic is a great place to work with a culture that values teamwork, continuous learning, diversity, and inclusion. We move quickly and fix things. We are environmentally and data-driven, with a growth-oriented, academic mindset. We value integrity as much as excellence.

    • Simulate and develop models and tools to analyze the electricity energy market, including simulating ancillaries and transmission constraints.
    • Contribute to the development of power market analysis tools delivering innovative solutions in the areas of network modeling, network analysis, power flow, security/contingency analysis, and real-time control.
    • Familiarity with Security Constrained Unit Commitment (SCUC) and Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) combined with a background in power system dynamics and stability.
    • Perform an advanced quantitative and economic analysis of energy markets to assess the future of the electric power market and prices, power plant operation and valuation, environmental emissions and compliance, transmission, and regulatory effects, among other parameters.
    • Stay abreast of market developments and provide fundamental analysis, insights, and perspectives on electricity markets.
    • Familiarity with optimization techniques such as convex programming, mixed integer programming (MIP), Linear programming (LP), and stochastic optimization is a plus.
