Account Directors at Grizzly manage a dynamic portfolio of accounts while providing exceptional client experiences. Reporting to the COO, the Account Director will cultivate and maintain senior-level client relationships, offering strategic vision and solutions for complex business challenges. As a key agency expert, this role involves advancing the agency’s reputation through thought leadership and overseeing multiple creative projects and partnerships. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, while effectively navigating creative and logistical challenges and serving as a trusted advisor to clients at all organizational levels.
About the Role - Client Services
- Serve as the strategic owner for the agency’s largest accounts, developing and maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional communication and insight-driven strategies.
- Direct the development and stewardship of accounts to address business objectives, drive new opportunities, and optimize agency growth, including discovering upsell and new business opportunities.
- Develop and implement effective client communication plans, ensuring regular engagement and visibility with key stakeholders, while leveraging industry knowledge to exceed client expectations.
- Oversee multiple client projects of varying sizes in a fast-paced environment, contributing to organic growth and actively participating in agency development and new business initiatives.
- Understand clients’ business and communication challenges, and develop smart strategies to overcome them, improving client experiences and contributing to continuous business improvement.
About the Role - New Business
- Drive the strategic framing and development of new business brands, objectives, and opportunities, while spearheading creative and strategic efforts to enhance growth with both existing and prospective clients.
- Act as a key client contact and internal representative, providing expert guidance and building strong partnerships to capitalize on new business opportunities.
- Lead agency pitches for significant opportunities, effectively presenting and showcasing the agency’s capabilities to secure new business.
- Create compelling presentations using Keynote, Google Slides, and case studies to effectively upsell opportunities and attract future clients.
About the Role - Internal & Client Stakeholder
- Lead the vision of the Client Experience department, fostering high-quality, collaborative teams and aligning work with client expectations.
- Serve as a consultant by increasing knowledge of the client’s business, casting vision for teams, and identifying new opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Build the agency's reputation through thought leadership, industry relationships, and expert representation at client visits, conferences, and events.
- Mentor and guide the Client Experience team, providing training, feedback, and support to ensure the highest level of client service.
- Maintain open communication with management and resolve conflicts by collaborating with internal staff and clients, while staying updated on industry trends and professional development.
About You
- Minimum of 8 years experience in hands-on account management and executive level relationship building, agency experience a must.
- Most comfortable when client facing and engaging multiple groups within the client’s organization when leading coordination for larger projects.
- Strong aptitude for creative business and marketing solutions, with excellent selling and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of the creative project process and ability to ensure timely execution.Proven ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships and manage multiple initiatives.
- Skilled in leading complex business pitches and making sound strategic decisions.
- Effective problem-solving with excellent judgment and proactive issue resolution.
- Superior organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients.
- Demonstrated leadership and team morale-building capabilities.

- While Grizzly has a remote-first culture, candidate must be located in Southern CA
- Flexibility with schedule to meet client commitments
- Domestic and international travel may be required, up to 35% if/as needed
