The Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and guiding efforts to ensure the reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety/security systems at the Green Thumb Industries cultivation facilities. The Reliability Engineer will also identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. This broad primary role includes loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management. You will be part of a team of technical individuals supporting Green Thumb Industries manufacturing objectives.
This role will be based in Danville, PA but will required travel to other GTI facilities. Significant travel (50%) may be required.
The ideal candidate will be able to work across all levels of the organization with an ability to influence, advocate and teach. A hands on and engaging leader who can work equally well across the continuum of doing, educating and leading.
- Lead a geographically dispersed team of direct and indirect maintenance/facility managers, monitor performance, and provide regular reliability updates and performance feedback to help managers succeed at the local level.
- Develop, direct, and lead implementation of GTI’s reliability and maintenance management processes and procedures inclusive of defining best practices to promote high asset availability.
- Review and progressively update programs, processes and SOPs to comply with changing requirements.
- Provide updates on reliability and asset management to other key stakeholders.
- Work with project engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations
- Direct and lead implementation of life cycle asset management (LCAM) processes throughout the entire life cycle of new assets
- Participate in the development of design and installation specifications, commissioning plans, acceptance and inspection criteria for equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers
- Participates in the final check-out of new installations, including factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications
- Professionally and systematically define, design, develop, monitor and refine an asset maintenance plan that includes:
- Develop and implement Maintenance Management/CMMS solutions across GTI manufacturing sites, inclusive of asset identification, hierarchy, criticality, work order management, inventory management
- Provide input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operations
- Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues, and to fulfill this responsibility, the reliability engineer applies data analysis techniques that can include:
- Professionally and systematically define, design, develop, monitor and refine maintenance programs for existing equipment and new installations including:
- Work with operations to perform analyses of assets including:
- Provide technical support to production, maintenance and technical personnel
- Apply value analysis to repair/replace, repair/design and make/buy decisions
Value-added preventive maintenance tasks
Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems
Reliability modeling and prediction
Fault tree & Weibull analysis
Failure Modes & Effect Analysis (FMEA)
Six Sigma (6σ) methodology
Root cause analysis (RCA) and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
Failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS)
Condition based monitoring
Asset utilization, equipment effectiveness, and remaining useful life

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years work experience with a proven track record of building and developing reliability processes and systems.
- Possess a strong knowledge of design, specification, and implementation of food\pharmaceutical processing systems
- Lean\Six Sigma Certification
- Strong communication skills
- RE and MM certification preferred.
- Ability to deliver specific organizational goals and effectively develop, grow and manage a diverse multisite team to achieve objectives.
- Track record of engaging teams and creating a collaborative culture.
